We are writing to you as the Steering Group and principal partners in the Eastbrook Hall project.
We visited the site today and saw the completed stonemason work on Leeds Road and Chapel Street.
At the beginning of this project the building was derelict, burnt out and roofless after a fire in 1996. The dome and Leeds Road facade were close to a state of collapse.
The careful dismantling stone by stone and the repair and reconstruction of the facade is one of the largest stonework projects undertaken recently in the North of England.
We are writing to commend the quality of the workmanship and the great commitment that Stone Edge has given to this project.
This work has played an important part in bringing new life to one of the largest listed buildings in this unique conservation area.
The positive re-use of the building will play a key part in the regeneration of Little Germany.
We wish Stone Edge the success it deserves in the Stone Federation (GB) Restoration Category Award.
